Jenkins Park is a small public park located on Jenkins Road in Burnt Hills. This popular park was established by the Town of Ballston as a small Park District in the mid 1950s. The park operates with its own set of bylaws, financially supported solely by taxpayers in the Park District. For many years the Jenkins Park Advisory Board advised the Town Board of improvements, maintenance, and appropriations needed to carry out Jenkins Park operations, in addition to volunteering many hours toward projects at the park. There is a playground area for young children, a horseshoe pit area, two ponds for fishing in the summer and ice skating in the winter, and a pavilion that's available to rent for meetings and social or educational activities. There are trails throughout the park for hiking and cross-country skiing, as well as a baseball field, basketball court, and open areas for passive recreation.
